That’s a great point, too. Now that I teach entrepreneurship rather than build startups myself, I think of VCs a bit more like teachers in the sense that I realize my job is to help incredible entrepreneurs accomplish incredible things and am fulfilled more by that than by the building of startups.

I think VCs often see their job in a similar way. Instead of being “the entrepreneur building the startup,” they want to contribute to the successes of multiple entrepreneurs, and that work is fulfilling for them.
