That’s a fair statement, and I agree. Also worth pointing out the distinction I’ve made in the article about this being something “early-stage VCs” care about.

There are, of course, lots of different kinds of VCs investing at different stages. In general, early-stage VCs don’t look for companies that are targeting profitability in the short term — EVEN IF THE COULD — because they’d rather the company put all its revenues back into growth.
